A true ambassador of music, he has soloed in many unique and distinguished venues around the globe including the American Embassy in Paris, the Presidential Retreat at Camp David, the private chambers of the Vatican before Pope John Paul II, and Carnegie Hall. Peter began his career as Concertmaster of the Walt Disney World Orchestra in Orlando, Florida. He has appeared as violin soloist with such legendary artists as Rosemary Clooney, Michael Feinstein, Renée Fleming, Bernadette Peters, Randy Travis, and Trisha Yearwood and has performed chamber music in concert with Ida Kavafian, Steven Tenenbom, and Peter Wiley.
Peter is cofounder of the acclaimed string duo Bridging the Gap (with bassist Aaron Clay), which was hailed by The Washington Post for “superior arrangements and uncommon musicianship.” Both were honored by their home state of West Virginia with the Arts and Humanities Commission “Music Award” in recognition of their “outstanding leadership and devotion to the enhancement of the arts.” More recently, Peter co-founded The BrickHouse Duo — the acclaimed string duo of violinist Peter Wilson and cellist Jennifer Kloetzel. Founded in 2017, each performer brings a wealth of artistry to the concert stage with decades of combined experience.
Bridging the Gap is the highly acclaimed American string duo featuring violinist Peter Wilson and double bassist Aaron Clay. Hailed by The Washington Post for “superior arrangements and uncommon musicianship,” Bridging the Gap offers a unique voice to many musical styles by uniting the sounds of instruments from opposite ends of the string family while performing music of the classical tradition, jazz, big band, folk, film music, popular song, and even funk. Wilson and Clay grew up less than 30 miles apart in West Virginia but met only when their careers coincided in 1994 as members of “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band.
The BrickHouse Duo is the acclaimed string duo of violinist Peter Wilson and cellist Jennifer Kloetzel. The duo was founded in 2017, each performer bringing a wealth of artistry to the concert stage with decades of combined experience. Peter and Jennifer first met when they were both age 17 as members of the inaugural National High School Honors Orchestra, which assembled the finest young musicians selected from every state in the union for a performance in Anaheim, CA as part of a Music Educators National Conference. Peter and Jennifer went on to have extensive careers as performers. They would reunite more than 25 years later to begin a new collaboration that began with Jennifer appearing as cello soloist with orchestras for which Peter serves as music director.
